Air and Space Museum

One of the places I never fail to visit every year is the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center - sometimes referred to as the Dulles Annex of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I never cease to be amazed at the aviation history that is contained within this center. Twelve bucks a carload to get in.

Go check out the Concorde and the Enola Gay (B29).

Here's two places with good info:

Smithsonian Website
Wikipedia

It also has a wonderful IMAX theatre.

Local Apple Pies and more yummies

Want great apple pies? Or any kind of pie? Or breads? Go to Mom's Apple Pie at 22510 South Sterling Blvd.Sterling, VA 20164 or call them at 703-471-6266. I have been using them for the last two years and have never been disappointed. They bake them on location and actually have a farm nearby where they get their ingredients.

Oh, one more thing. One website which I find an active community at for those in the eastern part of the county is at www.cascadesva.com . Check out their forums for lots of stuff.

Eastern Part of County = Stress

Just in case you didn't know it. Living in the eastern half of the county pretty much equates to stress due to traffic, jobs and overcrowding.

First you make sure that your kids get to school. Then, you have to get to work and hope that the traffic lights are in your favor. With winter coming, you pray that there are no accidents that are going to make your commute take more than an hour. With Christmas coming you end up going to the stores after work seemingly with the rest of humanity and find your gifts (or not) and end up in a long line at the cashier. By the time you get home, you're exhausted and you're supposed to do the household chores?
